The upgrade is looking for a file that apparently only exists on the installation media. When I tried to download Office from the link, the installation failed saying I had the 64 bit version and would have to uninstall it before I could install the 32 bit version. I still don’t understand how this solves the error caused by not having a physical installation media. This error message states that you have an Office edition installed as 64 bit version.
So in order to install the Office as a 32 bit version, the installed version needs to be removed. Use the fixit from my previous post to remove all traces of Office installation files. As the product was purchased from Amazon, you can either download the Office suite from their website or download the same version of Office suite from the Microsoft website using the product key.
As you are using the product key for download, you will get the legitimate version of the download. Please visit the download link provided in my previous post. The installation files present on the media sometimes will be corrupt and that is the reason you were asked to download the Office suite and then install the same using the product key that came along with the purchase.
